Irina Samardzic

Irina Samardžić was born in 1994 in Kotor. Her music education started in the music school of Tivat. She then continued through high school, attending “Davorin Jenko” in Belgrade, where she studied under the wing of professor Dragan Lazić — and went on to be the valedictorian. After high school, she continued at the Music Academy of Belgrade, again studying under Professor Lazić. In 2017, she went on to complete her Masters degree.

 Throughout her studies, she was awarded multiple prizes at both national and international competitions, most notably the laureate at the 7th International Competition “Davorin Jenko.” In addition to solo performances in many concerts and competitions, she’s performed as a member of the Belgrade Music Academy’s Symphony Orchestra, the symphony orchestra “Beogradski Simfoničari” and Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra. As a participant of the International Wind Instruments Workshops in Tivat, she attended the master classes of Bojan Pešić and Guy Porat. Because of her accomplishments throughout her academic career, she was the recipient of a fund for young talents “Dositeja” and Montenegro’s Ministry of Education.

 In 2016, Irina was part of an international project at the Operosa festival in Herceg Novi, playing Rossini’s opera, Cinderella. In 2019, she took part in performing the works of G.F Handel – Water Music, the opening act of the festival Purgatorije, and later performed another;“Cultural Summer of Podgorica.” Since 2015, she’s been a regular member of the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra – and in 2017, she began teaching music at the Music School of Tivat, and still teaches there today.
