Jelena Krmpotic Borbelj

She started her music education in her home town of Sremska Mitrovica, as a student of Prof. Irena Milić, and later continued her education in Novi Sad, as a student of Radmila Martinović, MA. Further on, she graduated at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad as a student of Prof. Marijan Egić, and obtained her MA diploma as a student of Laura Levai Aksin, MA.

She participated on musical festivals, republic, international and federal competitions where she won first and special prizes. She was awarded diplomas by the following institutions: Radio Belgrade, Belgrade Television and University of Novi Sad for the achieved results. After some specializations, she was awarded diplomas of master courses of Vicenso Prats, Janos Balint, Gyengyes Zoltan, Istvan Matuz etc. 

Jelena Krmpotić- Borbelj has been working in education as a flute teacher at an Elementary Music School “Josip Slavenski” in Novi Sad since 1999.

When she began working as a teacher, she completed her master studies in Novi Sad where she participated on numerous concerts and manifestations.

While working at Music School “ Josip Slavenski”, she was also a member of the opera at the Serbian National Theatre and played the piccolo flute in Novi Sad, regular member of “The Symphonists of Vojvodina” in the position of the first, second and third wind instrument player – flutist, a member of a flute trio “In Vivo”, Slovenian trio “Sonček”, and she was also engaged in the realization of the classes at the Department for Music Art, study program – flute, at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, which definitely contributed to the knowledge transfer and affirmation to the youngest musicians. She is a regular member of the Section of the Flutists of Vojvodina.
Within 1
st October i.e., International Music Day, she has been regularly joining the study trips where, together with her colleagues, she has been participating in concerts in Pomaz, Bratislava, Maribor and Novi Sad.
As
a mentor, she took part in training new colleagues – flute trainees.
As a jury member, she participated in the following competitions:
Festival of Flutists – “Tahir Kulenović” in Valjevo, “Festival of Music Schools” in Ćuprija,
Flutists’ Competition “Slavenski” in Belgrade, International Competition “Sirmium Music Fest” in Sremska Mitrovica, Competition “Young Virtuoso” in Belgrade.

She also participated in the realization of the summer and winter schools of flute ”Flart”.
She keeps improving herself both in her home country and in seminars, courses and festivals in Slovenia.

In her work, so far, she has obtained many diplomas for the achieved results and some of them are: honorary diplomas for competition laureates, several awards of the Provincial Secretariat for Sports and Youth – Award to the Mentor of a Gifted Student 2015, 2018 and 2020, Acknowledgement to the Mentor in Varaždin, in 2018 she was declared the best pedagogist at the international competition “Tahir Kulenović”. 

Based on her agelong results in educational work at Primary School “Josip Slavenski” in Novi Sad, in 2021 she received “The Award of the Community of Music and Ballet Schools in Serbia”.

As a flute teacher, she finds satisfaction in pedagogical work at music school “Josip Slavenski” in Novi Sad where she has been presiding the professional council for wind instruments since 2011.
