Amsal Ganović

Amsal Ganović, was born in 1989 in Montenegro to a family of musicians and artists, and has been playing the piano since the age of four. He prematurely graduated from the Elementary Music School “Mladen Pozajić” in Sarajevo as the Pride of the generation, with a large number of awards and concerts. He simultaneously enrolled and graduated from the High School of Music in Sarajevo and the High School of Applied Arts in Sarajevo with notable results, awards, exhibitions and concerts, and continued his education at both Academies of Arts (Music and Fine Arts).

In the classes of prof. Jokut Mihailović and prof. Irine Skerl, he graduated and obtained his Master’s degree with the highest grade, as a pianist – piano professor. During his studies, he participated in numerous concerts, events and competitions, achieved exceptional results, and won awards and scholarships for three-year postgraduate studies at HNUST University in China (Xiangtan, Hunan), which he declined, to stay in his country. One of the compositions of the master’s exam was S. Rachmaninov: Rhapsody on Paganini’s theme for piano and orchestra. He is actively and passively attending Masterclasses with prof. Mykola Suk, Hinko Haas, Kemal Gekić, Rita Kinka, Bijljana Gorunović and others.

After completing his studies in 2013 he began his pedagogical career in Mostar at the Music School of 1st and 2nd degree, where he worked for three years. During that time he enrolled several graduates at the Music Academy and actively participated in public performances with students and as a pianist. Since 2016, he has been working  at  OMŠ  Ilidža  Sarajevo,  where  he  has  so  far achieved over 50 International Awards with students, of which 4 Laureates, Gold Medals and Absolute Victories. He actively participates in the Concert dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the birth of the famous Hungarian composer Kodaly Zoltan, under the auspices of the Embassy of Hungary in Sarajevo. Also, he performs the duties of asset manager of piano in his school. He is the organizer of several masterclasses and concerts, and 2017/18 and 2018/19 received Special Recognitions for his work given to him by OMS Ilidža, as the most successful professor.

On October 5, 2019 The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton presented him with the Teacher of the Year award at the hall of the Skenderija Youth Center. He is currently preparing for the admission of Doctoral studies.
