Branislav Aksin (1959, Novi Sad) is a trombonist and pedagogist. 

He graduated from high school in Novi Sad and in the second year of high school he started playing the trombone in “Isidora Bajić” Music School. He studied at the Faculty of Technology, University  of Novi Sad. 

Aksin enrolled the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of prof. Vinko Valečić in 1979, graduated in 1985 and in 1989 received his master’s degree in the same class. During his studies he won the highest awards in national and federal competitions. At the Faculty of Music he received the award from the prof. Jakov Srejović fund for the best diploma exam as well as awards from prof. Bruno Bruna fund for Best Master’s Exam. He is the Laureate of the 1987 Music Artists Competition in Zagreb.

In 1982 he became a member of Serbian National Theatre (SNP) Opera Orchestra as a trombonists and in 1984 he became the lead trombonist of the same orchestra. He was also a solo trombonist at Vojvodina Philharmonic Orchestra which operated within SNP. During the 1988/89 season he worked as the solo trombonist of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. 

As a soloist and as a member of various chamber ensembles (Dou trombone, Novi Sad brass quintet, Musica Viva, Tickmayer Formatio, etc.), he has had a number of national and international concerts and participated in festivals such as Nomus, Bemus, Tribune of Yugoslavian Creativity in Opatija, Zagreb Biennials etc.

In 1989 he started a collaboration with Theatre Jel from France, run by Jozef Nagy, in 1991 he started living and working in Orleans (France). He has performed in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Israel.

In 1994 he returned to Novi Sad, where he was elected Assistant Professor of Trombone and Chamber Music at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.

Since 1995 he is a member of the Chamber Orchestra Camerata accademica and the Novi Sad Brass Quintet. As a soloist with these and various other ensembles, he has performed at Nomus, Bemus, the International Composers Panel in Belgrade, and at many concerts in Novi Sad, Belgrade, Subotica, Kanjiža, Senta, Vrsac, Podgorica, Budva, Budapest. etc.

In 1999 he was elected Associate Professor at the Academy of Arts.

Recently, he has collaborated with the Sonemus ensemble from Sarajevo and toured in Sarajevo, Zadar, Zagreb, Belgrade, Podgorica and Skopje in 2002, and in September 2003 in Switzerland (Zurich-Winterthur).

He is a member of the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra (solo trombonist) and the Orchestra  of SNP Opera (solo trombonist).

He was elected professor at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in 2004. His students have had remarkable appearances at student concerts organized by the Academy of Arts and in the Academy’s Symphony Orchestra and have won the highest awards in student competitions.

He currently teaches at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad as well as at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka.
