Jasna Petrovic

Jasna Petrović was born in Požarevac. She finished elementary music school “Josip Slavenski” Belgrade in the class of Veljko Popović. She graduated from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of Stjepn Rabuzin. She has attended masterclasses given by renowned soloists and pedagogues (Herman Bauman, Radovan Vlatković,  Franz Piczka, Francis Orval).

From 1989 until 2003 Jasna Petrović was the solo horn player in the Symphonic Orchestra of the Yugoslav Military Ensemble. She has worked with the RTS Symphonic Orchestra, Terazije Theater Orchestra, Belgrade Brass Orchestra, Guard Orchestra. During her orchestral career, she has made remarkable appearances with both Serbian and foreign prominent conductors in Austria, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Romania and ex-Yugoslavia. She has made numerous performances with domestic and international chamber ensembles, from duos to quintets. She has also made recordings for various radio and television companies. 

Her teaching career started in music school “Vladimir Đorđević“ Belgrade in 1988 and continued in music school „Jovan Bandur“ in Pančevu. Since 2003 she has worked is horn teacher in music school “Josip Slavenski” and in 2007 she also joined “Davorin Jenko” music school. Her teaching results have been remarkable as her students are laureates of many competitions in Serbia and abroad and successfully continue their education in Hamburg, Graz, Vienna and Milan. Some of them are members of national or international symphonic orchestras, while many are successful pedagogues. 

Since 2000 she has worked as an assistant conductor for the Brass Band of the Youth Symphonic Orchestra of Serbia. For thirty years now she has organized concerts “Young Serbian horn players”. Also, she has taken part in founding of an international competition of chamber brass bands and the “Pančevo Brass Meetings”. She is a member of many national and international juries at home and abroad.
