Nenad Markovic

Nenad Marković was born in Novi Sad where he completed his lower and secondary music education in the class of prof. Dubravko Marković. He graduated from the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe, Germany in the class of Prof. Reinhold Friedrich. As a soloist and member of various ensembles and orchestras he has cooperated with some of the most prominent conductors and musicians. Specializing in 20th and 21st century music, he has brought over 150 compositions to a world premiere, including numerous pieces written specially for him. 

He is a co-founder of the international ensemble Laboratorium with nineteen top musicians from five continents; he is a member of Swiss-based Ensemble Phoenix Basel and cooperates with other prominent modern music ensembles such as Klangforum Wien, Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen, Elision (Melburn), Ensemble Modern (Frankfurt). 

He has also for several seasons participated in the work of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, under the baton of Claudio Abbado and received some of the highest awards at numerous national and international competitions. He has held seminars and master courses on new trumpet practice in Serbia, Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, China and the USA. He is currently a professor at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and a guest professor at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka.
