Marin Zokic

Marin Zokić is born in Split, where he graduated trumpet at Music School „Josip Hatze“in the class of professor Ante Puharić. In 1995, at Zagreb Academy of music, he got his Master’s Degree in trumpet performance with prof. Stanko Selak. Later on Marin continued his musical education as a trumpeter at Trumpet Academy in Bremen where he took classes with renowed artists and pedagogues such as Pierre Thibaud, Bo Nilsson ,Thomas Stevens, James Thompson, John Wallace, Matthias Höfs, Rudolf Köpp. During his study in Bremen, he was an active participant in student projects with Bremen Philharmonic orchestra and opera. He attended masterclasses with esteemed teachers in Croatia and abroad (Stanko Arnold, Phillip Smith, Allen Vizzuti, Eric Rinner, Timofej Dokshitzer, Edward Caroll, Claes Stromblad, Thierry Caens, etc.)
Marin played as a soloist with numerous croatian orchestras: Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Croatian Chamber Orchestra, Varaždin Chamber Orchestra, Croatian Navy Orchestra of Split, Zadar Chamber Orchestra. He was a solo trumpeter of Croatian Armed Forces Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra of HRT (Croatian National Television). Since 1998, he is the principal trumpeter of Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra.
Aside from solo and chamber performances, Marin is often a jury member of several croatian and international competitions. (International competition „Bistrički zvukolik“, International competition „Varaždin Woodwind&Brass“, International competition „Davorin Jenko“ Belgrade.)
Since 1999. he works as a professor at Music academy in Zagreb and Music academy in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Every year he gives masterclasses at Trumpet Summer School in Brač and Zagreb.
